Scharendijke is located on the island Schouwen-Duiveland, the northernmost island of the province Zeeland. To the south it is connected with the island Noord-Beveland by the Zeelandbridge and Oosterscheldedam. To the north and the west it is connected by the Brouwersdam and the Grevelingendam with the island Goeree-Overflakkee and the mainland. The region is lucky to get the most sun hours of the Netherlands and differs by this noticeably from the northern Dutch beaches.
' De Achthoek ' is name of the street - in English 'the octagon'. The road was set in 1972 for holiday houses. The house number 22 lies in the middle of the plant, the advantage of which is the fact that the situation of the house is very private (increased by the many trees and bushes around) and far enough from the road (grey strip right in the illustration), so that you do not have to fear noise disturbance. The blue field marks the yachting port (with 850 places), which is reached in approximately 1 minute walking.

Scharendijke is a small village,so walking and cycling are the best ways to replace yourself. The small center with supermarket, three or four other stores and just as many cafés and restaurants is 5 minutes walkinig from the house. To the North Sea beach it is 15 minutes walking or 5 minutes by bicycle. (on the Brouwersdam you can park your car free of charge - even during the summer.)
